I have an Ender 3 pro with a Gulf Coast Robotics all metal hot end. Upgraded bed and all metal extruder. I am trying to print some light saber blades and I am running into under extrusion every time and I am failing to trouble shoot it.
You can see part of the print is not terrible, but the other half of the circle is terrible. So this seems to be an issue that increases as it prints then resets each layer.
My next steps are to up the temp to 215, temp 220, try a different filament to see if maybe this one is garbage and then I am going to just start tearing my hot end apart and replacing the bowden tube...
If you need any additional info, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you anyone willing to help!
Previous Troubleshooting
- Increased temperature from 200 - 210, no change
- checked for clog and ultimately replaced nozzle, no change
- Turned off retraction to see if it was a retraction setting, no change
- printed at 30mm/s, no change
- Checked bowden tube for friction, no issues detected
- Checked extruder wasn't grinding filament and wasn't too loose, no change
Latest Print Settings
- Filament brand, Amazon Basics
- Hot end temperature, 210
- Bed temp 60
- print speed 50 mm/s
- initial layer speed 20 mm/s
- Retraction distance 2.5mm
- infill 100% (print is 3 layers thick and setting recommended for blade creator)
- Printer is in a tent to reduce drafts and temperature swing
- Capricorn bowden tube
- Initial fan speed 0, fan speed 100
- Slicer is Ultimaker Cura 4.8.0
- Print is being handled through Octoprint on raspberry pi.
- Bed adhesion is set to skirt (first layer adhesion is fine)
