Getting my first 3D printer tomorrow!
Post Body

Hi guys,

I'm a total noob, I have no prior experience to 3D printing or modelling in any shape or form. However I am a developer and I'm good with my tools so I should be okay assembling my Ender 3 that's coming in tomorrow. I watched a couple of videos to properly understand it, and I have a few questions

  1. What software should I be using for making my own models?
  2. What software should I be using for slicing?
  3. What other software should I be making myself comfortable with right now so it will help me in the long run?
  4. What should I look out for as a complete novice, things that you guys have already been through just so I can stay ahead and not make the same mistakes.
  5. I see a lot of people using OctoPi for some reason, should I also be going down the same route?

Any other advice is appreciated! I'm really excited and I can't wait to dive into this hobby.
