Hello all you beautiful people.
I'm Kitt and it's nice to meet you all. I recently finished Alistair Campbells book "but what can I do?". For reference I live in the UK. In it he argues that if we want to see change in the world we have to be the ones to go out and agitated for it. Especially when it comes to politics. He actually uses Brexit as a case study, when the anti EU movement was founded no one took the idea of leaving seriously, but those who wanted it pushed for it and campaigned until they got it (and on my view all the abhorrent things that happened because of it).
I'm quite a political person in any event but it really got me fired up to do what I can to push back on the waves of hate coming towards the trans community at the moment.
I thought it'd be a good idea to discuss how we can go about combating some of this?
This far I have the ideas of: Letter to MPs or discussing in MP surgery. Attending peaceful protests Organising campaign groups to boost awareness Attending pride (For me) Being openly trans at work and doing the best I can to discuss this when people have questions.
What are other people's thoughts on this matter? What can we do to help secure our day on the political conversation?
