I was wondering how you guys in cold weather take bps on patients with jackets on in the winter. I work as a basic in Detroit and we do quite a bit of transfers and pretty much all the patients have jackets on and some have limited mobility can can't take them off easily, my question is that is there any rule preventing me from buying a wrist bp machine to get a quick set of vitals so I don't have to make the patient remove their whole jacket? All of the transfers are usually stable and usually less than 10 minutes
Edit: thanks for the opinions guys, I think I'll stick with getting the bp the old fashioned way. I might start taking the cuff into the house with me and get it before they put on a jacket
