Ismail may only be 15 years old, with no hair on his face, but it was clear to all that he was a man. Would a boy be able to lead his soldiers into battle victoriously, giving them great victory by the will of God?
The streets of Tabriz were lined with onlookers, scholars, and the loyal Red-Headed soldiers. All of them cheering at the site of their new King of Kings. Ismail was sure to personally congratulate some of the most bravest of his Qizilbashi. Indeed, God would not have willed this victory had it not been for the bravery of Ismail and his men. The visions Ismail had seen while praying had come true, and he was the now most powerful man in the world. Guided and blessed by God.
Ismail and Anush arrived on horseback to the palace that would be their new home. Here, they would finally be able to make a proper family. Their son Hamid had tragically died recently only a few days after the birth. Anush had been hurt by that, and her physician stated that it would be years until she can give birth again. Ismail loved her, and wished for only her to be the mother of his sons and daughters. But the need for an heir prevented such an arrangement. He would have to find another wife soon. He was sure there would be a nice girl he could like in Tabriz.
Ismail hopped down from the horse, holding Anush' hand as she too hopped down from it.
"This is our palace, my love. Isn't it beautiful?" Ismail asked his wife, smiling.
Anush looked up at the rather magnificent building. Not too different from Khachen, yet different enough to be quite exotic.
Ismail took Anush by the hand, dragging her playfully into their new palace. Their footsteps echoed loudly. The palace was seemingly emptied out by its former inhabitants.
"It looks like we will have a lot of work to do. We must redecorate, we must make this place comfortable for us, don't you think?" Ismail said giddily.
Ismail stood there proudly, hands on his hips. He was ready to take on the world if he had to. He had won, and will win and win again. God wills it.
"Anush dear, can we play some chess after we do our prayers tonight? You need to have some more fun, it is good for you!"
