Hello all,

We have reached that sad point in every season where it is clear that activity will no longer maintain a frequency that we can consider the sub to be active. Unfortunately, this time has come far sooner than we had all hoped and expected. While you can point to a number of different facets to the season decline - endless time-bubbles, a declining player base, increased busyness and conflict in the lives of players and mods - at the end of the day there is no one cause to what happened this season, and we will be working closely to figure out ways to prevent these issues from causing the same disruption next season.

But it most certainly was not all bad. On the contrary - for a good month and a half, this sub was able to live up to or surpass the high levels of roleplay, interaction, and enjoyment that we all know that EP can bring out of us, and it was fantastic. Alliances rose and fell, much intrigue was had, and many stories were made that will live on in the legends of EmpirePowers. We all came here for those amazing qualities that EP is known for, and for much of the season you all made it happen, day in and day out. Despite the ending, it was worth it to see you all so invested and having fun in the way only EP can.

The next few months will see the mods discussing ways to reformat the moderation and game system in a way that will hopefully make Season 9 run more smoothly, with fewer time bubbles, a faster pace, and lots more room for RP and interaction. It is out goal to bring you an experience that matches your level of investment, and we hope to do so next year. To that end, if you have any feedback or suggestions on areas that you believe need improvement, please feel free to contact any of the mods through discord DMs or modmail, and we will take it into consideration when planning the next season.

Until then, the discord will of course remain open, free for shitposting, political debates, and obviously Minecraft, but the sub will be unmoderated and the offseason will be considered underway. If you still need to scratch the XPowers itch, check out the XPowers subreddit for a list of active subs. In particular, Age of Man, Atomic Age Powers, and Historical World Powers are all fairly active right now, and offer an alternative to the EmpirePowers formula during our offseason.

Thank you all for being fantastic parts of this amazing adventure. We literally could not do any of this without you, and only hope that we can live up to your inspiring commitment next time around. You truly make this all worth it. We hope you all enjoy the rest of your year, and hope to see you around next year.
