Post Body

January 13th 1500

The conquest of Forli represents Cesare's first significant military victory in Romagna. A major settlement in the region, it will serve as his base for future operations and the capital of his new realm. Within the day of it seizure, Cesare called upon the county of forty, the nominal ruling body of the city, with 10 councilors representing each of its quarters. Here he confirmed their position to keep ruling, and ensure the cities general prosperity, although appointing a Governor, Ramiro de Lorqua, to represent his interests in Cesares absence. With the governance of the city secured, Cesare set about reparations to the fortress at its heart. Where canon had bought down the wall, Cesare ordered the placement of a large marble plate bearing his coat of arms. With these completed Cesare prepared for the final stages of his campaign.

Pesaro and Back to see how far it is

Among those lords under papal domain, there are those that are relevant, and those that are not. The Duchy of Urbino sits strong, at the heart of this territory, unchallenged for now by any but the Pope in Rome. But to his north and along the Adriatic coastline, there are those of less importance. The Lord Meldola, Malatesta lords of Sarsina and Pandolfo IV of Rimini, Lord Giovanni Sforza of Pesaro and Gandara, and the Republic of San Marino. These lords of lesser importance and the cities which they rule, are to fall before the might of Cesares army.
