Having successfully built many smaller docks and ports along the coast of Cuba, as well as now having more goods to trade, the Republic has decided to subsidize the building of a new trading fleet for the Ligurian people. As traders first and foremost, many Ligurians could not wait to take back to the seas and bring their goods back to Europe. To that end, 20 thousand ducats would be used to subsidize the production of sailing vessels for anyone willing to make the journey back across the Atlantic and bring Ligurian goods to the European market. They were also to speak to Ligurian people in whatever remained of the old Kingdom and tell them of the fantastic opportunities waiting for them in their new homeland, possibly taking some back with them on the return voyage. The introduction of tobaco especially should help start a large European market for the product.
