"Your Grace, your sister Margaret is yet to be married. At 15 and the sister of a King I humbly council your lord to offer her hand to King Edward IV's brother Richard of Gloucester." Robert Cochrane, the King's favourite stated before parliament.
Immediately, shouts of anger and other threats were hurled from the chambers, eventually King James rose his hand and the lords calmed down.
Lord Chisholm spoke up, "Your Grace, I think it would be unwise. The English have never done any favours nor pursued friendly terms with us Scots. This lowborn," he gestured towards Robert Cochrane "knows not of the affairs of our nation, listen to your other councillors, the experienced men of this council. Many of us have been serving here prior to even your birth. Trust us."
James laughed "This 'lowborn' is the only one who gives me sound advice." James moved down and embraced Robert.
"Brother," Alexander Stewart, the Kings brother spoke "the French will not take kindly to this especially if this goes through. Nor will most of the Lords and commonfolk. It is against the very nature of this nation to ally the English."
"Bugger the French, the Lords and the commonfolk. Send them the bloody letter." James replied.
