NEW RULES
REMOVING TECH MODIFIER (no immediate update to spreadsheet, just don't bother to use the tech part)
Great Powers require more extensive requirements for claiming. GP claim posts must contain:
- An example of how they roleplay, be it a random event in their country, a coronation of a new king. Let their creative juices flow and show us what they can do.
- Way more extensive history knowledge about their country and region that currently demanded in claim posts, including knowledge of what has happened in the game so far, how their ruler would feel about it, how the country would feel about it (unhappy about ruling class, poor, shaken, jingoistic, so-and-so), just generally all the things they should know about when roleplaying said country.
- A promise to show up daily.
- An example GP claim post will be coming soon.
If some matter needs immediate attention of Austria/Pope and the respective players haven't shown up for 48 hours, non-affiliated mods can collectively make their decisions for them.
ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS
It's hereby advised to maintain a posting history in your wiki so that players joining midway through the game have an easier time understanding what's going on. (check my wiki for reference)
Missionaries will remain a RP feature. Conversion involves way too many variables to boil it down to an automated mechanic.
Nations are practically guaranteed some kind of crisis/malus for breaking truces or other diplomatic agreements, depending on what exactly they break, how, in what situation and between which countries.
A Casus Belli can be pretty much anything you like because that's how it was in history. It can NOT be a metagamey reason (up to mods to decide what is metagamey) but it CAN be something crazy, e.g. “my ruler desires the flowers you grow on your territory”, it’s just that the latter will most likely result in someone in said ruler’s court going “the ruler is a bit wack, let’s depose of him”.
/u/Hamburg30000 You get green light. Just bear in mind you're in a bad position and can easily be wiped out if you bother anyone too much.
OTHER
- This is probably not even half of what we discussed, it's just that the rest is purely speculation/debate/ideas and documenting them for the whole sub isn't really worth it. We ARE wrapping our brains around a pole debating trade, ships and country development, just so you know that we're not ignoring those problematic game features.
