Amaury de Quenec’hquivilly, currently Second President of the Parlement de Bretagne at Vannes since 1503, has on the orders of the Duchess of Bretons Anne, been promoted to the honorable and distinguished position of First President. de Quenec'hquivilly replaces Charles Guillard, First President of Brittany since 1508.

With Anne's declining health, it is suspected by many both in Blois and Brittany that Anne has promoted de Quenec'hquivilly in an attempt to ensure the sovereignty and independence of the Breton parliament. This is made more clear when it is noted that Charles Guillard was concurrently president of both the Paris Parliament and Vannes Parliament. Amaury de Quenec'hquivilly, being a Breton nobleman himself, is certainly more likely to ensure that Anne's wishes of a sovereign and autonomous Brittany stay true.
