As Adelantado of Pontevedra de San Juan Bautista Juan Ponce de Leon, I grant you with the following report which i duly expect to be considered...

With the establishment of our fort on Pontevedra and our settlement expanding our periphery, its location presents a danger for overland raiding by the nearby yucayeques of Guaynabo and Haimaino While defense from the natives is assured. We must be wary of a concerted effort from the natives in destroying the small settlement as reconnaissance shows of a great number of yucayeques in the region. We believe that extending the settlement to the islet up north of the bay known in our charts as Isleta de Puerto Rico presents a unique defensive position as well as an easy port of entry. Construction materials exist in the island but we will need labor and additional supplies and settlers to both extend the perimeter of Pontevedra and build the new port city in the Isleta. The new base would also present a shortened harbor for entry for Spanish ships and expeditions to make the voyage safely, besides the construction of a few docks, levies, a cathedral for the establishment of a new Catholic diocese in the territory, and a place of worship for the settlers, a convent, a hospital, and other key infrastructure. We will use mostly local construction materials but some may be brought in from Spain that can otherwise is made locally like construction tools, ironworks, etc. I will also order my subordinates to enter diplomatic negotiations with the following yucayeques for tributary status to the Spanish Crown:
