December 1502
Following the successful expedition of Alain Armorlaire, the Duchess of Brittany and Queen of France have given him the title of Seigneur de Landévennec, allotting to him an estate in the area. Once a a humble Breton fisherman, Alain Armorlaire is now a nobleman, with the former nickname Armorlaire now being his surname with the right to a coat of arms. The Roy has also approved Anne's suggestion that he be given the title Amiral de la Mer Oceane (Admiral of the Ocean Sea), in honor of his service in both exploration and battle on the Atlantic. The Scourge of Biscay is now satisfied.
Meanwhile, the issue of governing the new settlement founded by the Seigneur de Landévennec was rather quickly resolved after Anne decided to appoint the Saint-Malo merchant and navigator Jamet Cartier to the post of Governeur de la Pays de Saint Jean-Baptiste. Cartier will be sent back to Saint-Martha de Québec in 1503 alongside supplies, soldiers, merchants, and other necessary equipment to oversee the new settlement.
