September 1501
Manuel visited the Ribiera Palace, or what had been built so far. It was a gorgeous building overlooking the Tagus river.
The head of the project met the King's entourage as they entered the compound, "You're Grace, we are honored to have you here. Progress is going very well thanks to your generous patronage. In the next year enough of the Palace will be complete so that you can begin moving in."
Manuel smiled. The Ribiera would be an excellent home for his family and a suitable seat of power for his Kingdom as his court transformed from medieval to modern and renaissance. While near the river the King also dispatched a letter to the dockyards ordering new construction to bolster the royal fleet in anticipation of new ships need to send to India.
