Sometime in February, 1500

Saxons.

Saxons everywhere.

It was a new face to an old problem, these Saxons. Saxe-Launberg, the Wettins, hell even the Cirksena chiefs of old had succumbed to this tyranny imposed upon the rest of the world, and now sought to snuff out what few places of freedom there were. Mere months ago, the peoples of Wursten had already driven out their own oppressors. But now, the entire region has effectively been pawned off to the Saxons by Imperial decree, subverting the Emperor's requirement to uphold the Frisian Freedoms agreed upon in 1417 by simply making it someone else's problem and 'rewarding' the Saxons with a land everyone knew they could not truly rule.

At least, not without a fight.

And a fight they will have. Already, the general assembly of Wursten has sent some rather paltry requirements of peace to Saxe-Launberg and approached the Archbishopric of Bremen for further mediation - but everyone knew that that wouldn't be enough, and there was every chance that they'd simply not deem a bunch of peasants necessary. Frisians everywhere are on the fasttrack to losing their sovereignty and centuries-guarded freedoms.

It's time to actually organize something of a response.

Therefore, the leaders of Land Wursten have opted to follow a bit of an old way. Messengers will be sent out to each individual city, town, and community of Frisians asking for representatives to come in peace to elect new Redjeven of the Seven Sealands. Emphasis will be placed on drawing Skieringers into the midst, rather than Vetkopers, but all true Frisians are welcome, so long as they adhere to these common agreements which have been upheld since the last meeting in Groningen in 1361, as well as a few stipulations required of the immediate threats:

• That all parties agree not to submit under threat of force to any power which demands subjucation, taxation, or a lessening of our freedoms, nor advocate as such at the meeting
• That all parties come with the intent to propose genuine solutions to the current crisis involving the subjugation of our peoples by the Saxons and others, as well as cementing our freedoms
• That all parties come, first and foremost, with the pursuit of peace in mind, but with the understanding of war's necessity should our freedoms not be guaranteed
• That all parties come with the intent to elect a singular Potestaat to regulate and enforce the decisions agreed to at this meeting, and with authority to raise and lead armies and conduct ad-hoc diplomacy
• That all parties come with the intent to elect seven members to a temporary war-time counsel of Redjeven, to pass and deliberate on measures relating to this meeting and immediate conflicts that might threaten us, and pass measures as deemed appropriate by the counsel to fund or otherwise aid, regulate, and arm the Potestaat
• That all parties agree both the office of Potestaat and Redjeven may be recalled by a majority vote of no confidence at the next meeting
• That all parties agree to meet on the Tuesday after Pentecost at Upstalsboom for further deliberation; should Upstalsboom not be welcoming to this meeting, then Groningen; should Groningen not be welcoming to this meeting, then Wursten
• That such meetings will occur yearly at the Tuesday after Pentecost at Upstalsboom for further deliberation; should Upstalsboom not be welcoming to this meeting, then Groningen; should Groningen not be welcoming to this meeting, then Wursten
• That all refugees from recent conflicts should be welcome to have their say in these deliberations, should they uphold the totality of these deliberations and proclaim themselves Frisian

An invitation is promptly sent out to various groups. And then, the waiting starts.
