If the author is trying to get us to dislike Crispin, he’s doing a poor job, i get he’s not as sweet and kind and smirks at his brother when he fails (which imo isnt far off from irl sibling relationships) but ive also seen Crispin defend Hadrian multiple times. He also wanted to bond with his brother on his last few days before he’s shipped off and Hadrian was having none of it. I understand Hadrian is jealous but how much of the jealousy is Crispins fault? Seems to be that Crispin is a cheerful lad who can be mean sometimes. It’s starting to annoy me when Hadrian is rude for no reason sometimes.
