Iām here to introduce myself and share a bit about why this community means so much to me. I was married for 10 years to someone who endured unimaginable trauma, starting from when she was just four years old. She was abused and neglected by her own mother, who responded to her trauma with words that still haunt me: "Go take a shower; you're not clean." Watching her carry that pain every day, and witnessing the way her motherās abuse continued to harm her, was heartbreaking. I tried everythingāmoving cities, seeking supportāto make things better, but in the end, we divorced two years ago. That experience left a lasting impact on me, showing me just how broken our support systems can be, especially when it comes to dealing with deep emotional wounds.
In my journey to better understand these struggles, I stared to study psychology. I studied it formally, but over the past eight years, Iāve also done my own research because, to be honest, I found traditional teachings lacking. Psychology, as itās often taught, provides a few general techniques and expects us to apply them to help billions of unique individuals. Itās just not that simple. Each personās pain, experiences, and healing needs are profoundly different, and the āone-size-fits-allā approach misses that deeply. I began to feel that mainstream psychology often cares more about profit than true, individualized healing.
Why Iām Here
Iāve joined this community with the hope of offering the kind of support that feels personal and genuine. Iām here to share what Iāve learned, to listen, and to provide encouragement thatās tailored to each personās unique journey. I know that finding a space where you truly feel seen and understood can be rare, and I want to contribute to creating that here.
What I Hope to Achieve Together
I want this to be a place where we can talk openly about our experiences, share insights, and explore ways to heal that go beyond the surface. Whether youāre here to tell your story, ask for advice, or just read along quietly, please know that youāre welcome. This is a space for all of us whoāve felt invisible, neglected, or misunderstood.
Looking Ahead
In the coming weeks, Iāll be sharing a series of posts where Iāll dive deeper into some of the insights Iāve gathered, with the hope that they may be helpful to anyone going through a similar journey. Iāll cover topics related to emotional neglect, trauma, and healing, aiming to provide tools and perspectives that may feel more genuine and practical than traditional methods.
Thank you for being here and for allowing me to be part of this community. Iām looking forward to growing and healing together, one step at a time. š
