How do you not hold your parents accountable?

Post Body

I see so many people mention how they forgive their parents or how their parents aren't horrible people, I don't get it? Like my parents made a broken anxious barely functional human because they were... Busy? Cause they were ignorant? Cause they were irresponsible? Like can I just have a kid and barely give it any love because I have college debt? I don't get it. Everything my parents did is the braindead zero critical thinking route. Teaching your daughter calorie counting and telling her before she's ten to "get used to sucking your stomach in". And when asked all the time? responding " always you never let it out, you get used to it" like how do you empathize with that level of projection
