Never flown Emirates before so I’m not sure how they work but I’m flying from IAD to DXB at the end of the month on a Boeing 777-300. Employer wouldn’t spring for business class (Would have cost $16K so I get it). The only exit row seat available on either flight when I was booking was 24J, a middle seat. I’m not a psychopath so I don’t love middle seats and would prefer the aisle or the window. It seemed odd to me that none of the other exit row seats were available but I do think it is a busy time on a busy route. So now I’m wondering:

Is it possible that other exit row seats will become available closer to the flight date? Should I contact Emirates and ask if they can switch to me to the window or the aisle?
