This is Rocky, the Robot. He was inherited from a local hospital and he's about 13 years old. I received him in January and am assigned to "fix" him, or make him do something. I've hit a wall with this guy.
He is an Adept MT400 Mobile Robot, based on Pioneer 3 model. Links below.
Mechanically, he works. He has a new battery and I can drive him around just fine with the joystick.
The problems started when I try to create a new map of the school. ( Old map is of the hospital). I connected briefly connect to Rocky initially, through an ethernet cable and the provided software "MobileEyes", but the connection is terminated after 1 minute or so. Not enough time to create a map.
Now I can't connect at all, through the software.
My question: How can I test this computer to see what its doing?
It is a Versalogic EBX-12, cobra running Linux Debian (I belive)
It pings at 50%
The fan and LED comes on.
I bought a generic Ebay cable to connect a monitor to J7. That doesn't work either. Is there another reddit group that can help me?
