Best way to buy rarities (old IBs)?

Hi, was wondering what was the best way to buy odds and ends like for example old IBs? I know of the forum marketplace which is a good way to search through some seller’s list. But as for buying things it seems a bit less responsive (unless it’s a common item). Has anyone had success doing something else?
