Post Body

Everyone I love, or I have a strong connection to their art is dead. It was painfully made aware to me over the years that the things I love or connect with were ā€œdifferent ā€œ Elliott was my formative years. I was just out of high school when I heard him for the first time. Like most, he kept me company through the darkest times of my life, the loneliest times, the times I couldnā€™t be alone with my own thoughts or make sense of them. Like most Gen X, I used to try and gate keep him. As if he wrote those songs because he knew I needed them. Thatā€™s what was so great about him. A lot of people feel that way. Itā€™s personal.

I have a very strong and similar connection to Jack Kerouac. I love him first. Read his books, this beat path I have been on, I feel lead me in Elliottā€™s direction, and set me sail towards all kinds of art. I donā€™t know how I just now noticed they died on the same day.

October took two important men in my life. šŸ¤ Curse the 21st of October.
