FSD Injector question

Trying to use FSD injection to cut a few jumps out of my trip. I made the boost, 50% boost to be specific.
I tried manually plotting a jump as one must do with the FSD injections.
But none of the bonus seemed to be applied. It said I should have a 45 LY jump range with the boost, but it only offered jumps of 30 LY or less. What am I doing wrong?
