Not Getting Sound From The Monitor

I recently got a new monitor and new desk speakers (monitor didn't have them built in.) I used to be able to get sound coming from my other monitor that does have built in speakers, but this new setup I'm not getting anything. I have my Elgato connected to my Switch and even when I wasn't using the Elgato to capture gameplay it still showed up with sound so I can play, I could even have the PC off and still play, but with this new setup with separate speakers I can't do that, now the program has to be on to get sound now. Anyone have any ideas?
