I currently have 36 Americium buttons. This is a lot, and when all together it approaches mildly dangerous levels of radiation, over 1 milisievert a day.
I have all the proper precautions and protections, and I was wondering how I go about extracting the black AmO2 from beneath the gold foil. I was thinking I would use my blow torch to melt the thin gold foil and then try to expand the steel of the button to get it out. Any ideas?
Edit: Everyone here is saying it's a bad idea so I'm not gonna do it; however, I do have the proper equipment to safely deal with radioactivity, so don't worry about my safety.
