I have a Fireluke Freemax with mesh coils. I'm familiar with priming coils properly. My process goes like this:

1. Saturate the inner wick of the coil with juice generously
2. Screw the coil into the tank, and fill up the tank full with juice
3. Allow the coil to saturate in the full tank for at least 10 minutes.
4. After 10 minutes, take 5-10 hard dry pulls
5. Lower my wattage to at least 25% of my normal vaping wattage
6. Take 5-10 careful, quick puffs, with plenty of time between puffs for the coil to saturate
7. Gradually raise the wattage 5 watts, then repeat step 6 until I am at my wattage.

I'm still at the 25% wattage mark with my thoroughly primed coil and it just tastes like absolute ASS! I'm using a flavor that is very easy on the coils, too! The coil itself is not turning black at ALL, but it tastes like nothing but straight burning cotton.
