So I just received the TFV8 tank and thought I would give you guys my first impressions/first look.
I bought mine from https://www.eightvape.com/collections/tank/products/tfv8-cloud-beast-sub-ohm-tank-by-smok?variant=20586504454
Full Gallery for those on Mobile Devices
Presentation is very good, the box looks great and the tank and all components are intact.
Here you can see everything that comes with the tank including 3 coils, the Octuple coil which is preinstalled, the quad coil, the RBA deck, 510 drip tip adapter, 2 vape bands, spare o-rings and top fill gasket, cotton, spare glass, booklet, and allen wrench for the RBA deck.
Here you can see the coil size comparison from the TFV4 Quad and the TFV8 Quad Coils. The new coil is shorter, but much wider.
Here we have the RBA deck, which comes pre installed with 2 fused clapton coils. The deck is one of the biggest I have seen on a tank, velocity styled deck and huge post holes, along with massive air flow and juice channels, should accommodate most builds.
Here we have the side by side comparison with the TFV4, the TFV4 is actually taller than the TFV8, but the TFV8 is noticably wider.
Airflow comparison, 4 on the TFV4 vs 2 on the TFV8
Air channel comparison, much wider on the TFV8
The TFV8 sittin atop my KOOPOR Plus which is what I did my testing on, no noticeable overhang surprisingly
Now on to the big question how does it vape? I did my testing in 25 watt increments on the Octuple coil and here are my results.
50 watts - Does almost nothing, not a good starting point
75 watts - Little to no flavor, vapor production increased slightly, cold vape
100 watts - Flavor jumped up dramatically, barely warm, already better flavor than the TFV4, vapor production increased to what the TFV4 generally does at 80-90 watts " my preferred wattage on tfv4 quad
125 watts - This is their recommended wattage starting point, starting to get warmer and drip tip is warming up, vapor production increase from the TFV4, flavor is only getting better
150 watts - Can't believe i'm vaping this on a tank, starting to become a hot vape, flavor is still great, vapor production is only increasing. Drip tip is doing well with the hot vapor.
175 watts - Flavor is holding steady, very hot vape, drip tip getting noticeably hotter, flavor is still on point, vapor production around the same.
200 watts " my max on my device" Flavor has plateaued, vapor is extremely hot, starting to get dry towards the end of the hit.
125-130 watts is my sweet spot for flavor, vapor, and warmness of vape.
Overall this is a great tank, and a noticeable improvement on the TFV4, if you are against buying premade coils, then the RBA deck should accommodate any kind of builds for cloud or flavor chasers.
The top fill slider is much more robust this time around and actually takes a bit of effort to open, a much welcomed improvement. I also like the new drip tip design, I perfer a wider drip tip and this is perfect for my style of vaping.
Asteically I like the design, some may wish for different colored O-Rings, but I enjoy the orange ones.
Overall this is a great tank, and a noticeable improvement on the TFV4, if you are against buying premade coils, then the RBA deck should accommodate any kind of builds for cloud or flavor chasers. I see no faults with the tank other than the size, which might not sit well on all devices.
Those are my thoughts on the TFV8 tank, if anyone else has this, or is getting one I welcome your comments and thoughts on it as well!
