Should my 18650 batteries die this fast? Or is my iPV Mini defective? Or something else?
Post Body

Hi folks. First post here, and have been vaping for a few months.

I've been using a Lemo Drop RTA (right now, with the stock coil at 1.04 ohms) on an iPV Mini. This is my first time with something other than an eGo, and thought this setup would be a good introduction into the world of rebuildables. I also have an Aspire Atlantis, with an extended shaft section and Pyrex tank. The vapor production and flavor on both have already ensured I'll never go back to my eGo. :-)

I've been using Sony VTC3 18650 batteries (as best as I can tell, in comparing mine to pics of genuine VTC3s, mine look genuine in every way, just to clarify). I take one right out of the charger, and I can't get more than 3-4 long draws out of it before the voltage has dropped to 3.1V or lower (and my iPV gives me the "Low Res!" warning as well). I've used both of my attys on this iPV Mini, and I have the same problem with both.

The peculiar thing: the battery indicator on the iPV still shows a full charge, even with the low voltage. My charger agrees (it reads 4.0-4.1V on the same battery). I've also made sure all of the contact points to the pin and battery are clean, so I'm not getting any erroneous readings. Is the iPV not reading the voltage/resistance correctly? Are my batteries not playing nice with the iPV? Or am I just being a n00b, and missing something else?

Thanks in advance for your help, everyone.
