Newbie... day 5 analogue free... burning taste?

Post Body

Hi all, I would firstly like to thank this sub as when I was doing my initial "do I or don't I" this sub gave me the confidence to give it a go.

I am now on Day 5 without analogues, and have to say I'm extremely happy with my experience so far.

I bought a EGo starter kit and tonight tried a new flavour liquid (bubblegum - because, why not). and as I was vaping I noticed a loud "pop" sound and a burning taste, which persisted for the evening. I've since come home cleaned out the tank with water, and put in the liquid I had originally been using and the burning taste appears t have gone away - I'm still so new to vaping that I'm not sure if this was "bad liquid" or a wick / coil issue (I dont really understand that part, the place I bought the Ego from never explained the wick / coil stuff to me).

How often do you need to replace the wick and coil? And what is the "next step up" - I suspect that I may have been sold a fake, but I'm not sure how to tell?

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for any advice you can give.
