'Nuff said, really.

More often than not, this sub is engaging in hostile and acidic behaviour, precipitated by "issues", for want of a better definition.

Whether or not the originating issue is legitimate, the responses are not proportionate and all that is being achieved is the cultivation of a poisonous environment. Too much brigading, knighting and witchhunting is occurring.

This isn't /r/circlejerk, we're all here because of a unifying, positive common factor: we're all swinging a motherfucking tyre iron at Big Tobacco's balls.

Remember that this sub's moderation cohort is dishearteningly thin on the ground - In fact, the mod /u/DC2K08 hasn't posted in three years, /u/zeddy hasn't posted in two.

For all intents and purposes this sub is being run by two people (/u/smallchanger and /u/Lynda73), and as far as I know neither is head moderator.

Regardless, that's two people for a sub of 53,000. Really, we need more mods. Something needs to provide some kind of ameliorating factor when controversy rears its acerbic head.

We don't have the luxury of regulation, moderation. It's up to us, individually, to maintain a level of quality and accessibility.

So please, put the jimmies down and step away from the pitchfork.
