RCD Tripping at source
Post Body

G'day,

A question about RCDs. I'm sure many have experienced this.

For example, Genset power supply with RCD protecting outlets on the set, extension lead to RCD outlet box. Earth fault on appliance connected to RCD box trips Genset (source) rather than RCD box.

Anybody have an answer, solution to this? Currently doing circuit testing and preferably don't want to be tripping a common Genset.

All I can come up with is its tripping due to closeness to M.E.N, thus adding M.E.N further up line could solve this, thoughts?
