If I work as an electrician do the hours go toward when I want to become a journeyman?

I start work at Amazon as an electrician in 1 month I'm in California the pay is 28$an hour starting and full time is that good pay I heard the more experience it can go up to 40 after just a year. But I want to become a journey man and earn the 65 dollar minimum hour salary because I heard it can go up to 120 if I do high voltage. But the main question is does any electrical work I do go toward the day I can become a journeyman? And how do I go about getting it recorded on paper.
