"That's a wrap"....
Post Body

This is at a "resale inspection". If you do not know what this is, I will explain the basic gyst of it.

In many municipalities, whenever a house is listed for sale it must have a resale inspection before it is bought, sold, or transferred to a new owner.

It's just a very basic inspection where all the trades (building, plumbing, HVAC, and electric) check to see if there are any dangerous conditions.

Electrically speaking, it is to verify that there are smoke detectors, GFCI's where they should be, lights working, outlets and switches not hanging out of the wall, open ground outlets, service falling apart, grounding is up to code, etc.

"Life Safety" is the purpose when it's all said and done....

Like I mentioned, some, not all cities, townships, and villages require it and actually it is an ordinance that they adopt. So, it's voluntary and voted in by the residents.

The purpose is to "maintain the housing stock" to try to keep a minimum standard for safety and code compliance for all dwelling units, this includes apartments, condominiums, and hotels/motels.

With all that being said, this ingenious arrangement was found in the attic, where are of the dark, dirty electrical secrets like to reside 😅

Yes, that is aluminum foil....

Anyways, I thought I would share yet another wonderful find in the wild.

Be good 👍

I did not decide to use aluminum foil to splice wiring together and create a hazardous situation for any future attic dwellers. I did the inspection.

These pics are from completed inspections.

I am not asking for help to decide on what to do, I have already made my decision.

The questions are just for friendly conversation and your professional opinion(s).
