Hey everyone,

I'm finding myself caught up in a strange dilemma and I wanted to hear your thoughts and advice on the matter because I could really use some help right about now. I'm going out to EDC with a group of just under 10 friends and acquaintances, including myself, and things are already starting to get tense before we've all even met up in person. I consider myself a very tolerant guy and like to have "a little extra fun" and do some wild stuff on occasion when I go out to raves (if you catch my drift), but its turning out that these guys go really really hard with the drugs and its really putting me off because that type of vibe is really not what I'm about. I think myself quite knowledgable when it comes to harm reduction and proper use of substances and I'm well aware that my group is not as well versed on the topic, but no matter what suggestions I make or what cautions I mention they disregard all of it and insist on doing an excessive amount of drugs when they go out. I'm becoming really apprehensive about it all because, in full honesty, being around that type of group environment will drastically impact my ability to go out, use responsibly and safely, and have a fun time because I'm certain they'll end up going too hard for their own good and need some extra help being taken care of when it hits them too hard. All this tension and dissonance among perspectives on drug use is already creating a bunch of awkwardness and hostility among our group and its really bumming me out and making me worry that I won't have the fun, carefree experience I'm hoping to get out under the Electric Sky. So, what should I do guys? Should I keep talking about the risks of using too much and hope they come around to their senses so I can stay with them and hopefully have a good time, or should I just let them be stubborn and do their thing and let them take care of themselves? I would hate to just dip out on them because raving with a group is radical, but I don't think I could handle trying to look out for ~10 people that I warned against making reckless decisions when it comes to using drugs.

TL;DR - My EDC group goes too hard with drugs and it really really bothers me. Our group dynamic is getting hostile because of the disagreements on drug use. Should I let them do their thing and just go do my own thing by myself or should I keep trying to talk some sense into them so we can all stick together? Much love.
