I need a new circuit for my new sump pump. It is my understanding that it will need a dedicated circuit with a GFCI. Can I legally put a light and light switch in the area of the sump pump to service the sump pump, on the sump pump circuit? I realize the dedicated circuit is so no one accidentally plugs in a high amp device on the same circuit, put an LED ceiling light certainly wont overload the circuit. There would still only be one outlet on the circuit for the sump pump. It would be breaker box to GFCI outlet to ceiling light to light switch. This will be in CT, USA.
