I realize cannabis is not as sexy as it used to be. Psychadelic's like mushrooms and LSD are more accepted/being studied. That's great, in my opinion! Let's not forget how we got here.
Now you can buy CBD in health stores. I've been an advocate before legalization and although I've never been fond of high CBD strains, the popularity of CBD got me to buy a bottle and do some research.
I stumbled on video's like this one - CBD Oil - Interview with a Therapist
Seems like it's popular again to say THC causes mental illness, psychosis, etc.
This is the same rhetoric being pushed in the 90's and early 2000's. There were many factors at play but I bought in for many years and alcohol almost destroyed my life.
Thankfully I had a friend who had used cannabis for years and he told me it would only bring out a serious mental illness if you were going to have it already. He's since passed away and more research has been done. For my own opinion, I think I would add not using until the brain has fully developed.
Also, popular advocates like Joe Rogan have changed their tune. In the Pot Debate Rogan questions cannabis safety and this Alex Berenson flat out says it causes mental illness and violent crime.
What's going on? Why is the public turning on cannabis? Should I take these safety warnings more seriously?
