This is something I have been wondering for a while now.
When you look at the tri-colour cards, every one of them either uses or has direct synergy with the mechanic of the faction it belongs to. For example, take the Ebonheart tri-colour cards.
Forerunner of the Pact: Has Veteran.
Mournhold Taskmaster: Directly buffs creatures with Veteran.
Jorunn the Skald-king: Forces your opponent to play weaker minions making it easier to Trade while still procing Veteran effects.
Everything works out, with two notable exceptions: Power of the Almsivi, and Guildsworn Apprentice. However even if it doesn't directly tie into the Exalt mechanic, Power of the Almsivi does have thematic ties to the Tribunal Temple in terms of the actual lore of the living gods, so I can still accept why it has the Tribunal colours.
But then you have you have Guildsworn Apprentice. Even if we leave the issue with the art aside: How does a Guard creature that draws a card have any relation to either the Expertise mechanic or the Guildsworn in general?
I mean if it was an action that draws a card and summons a 1/2 Guard, I could understand "It's a cheap and powerful way to proc Expertise effects", but it doesn't even have that going for it! The closest thing I can think of is that having Guard means that theoretically creatures with Expertise could live longer but that is really stretching the idea of 'synergy' when literally any creature with Guard could do that.
I'm just missing something obvious? Am I just going mad? (I mean, I AM going mad but it shouldn't be affecting this.) Does anyone else here have any theories cause I am absolutely stumped on this one.
