Post Body

  1. Commander Gaius: Dogshit.

  2. Scadutree Avatar: The jump in quality from Gaius to this one is massive. I actually felt like all the bosses minus him were decent at worst. I feel like the multiple phases in this boss were done in a nice way because everytime you are done with one of the health bars you can do a riposte to take a big chunk out of the next one as well as hit it for a bit after it respawns, making each phase easier than the last, particularly the third phase because its huge AOE attack is very easy to dodge and leaves the flower completely open for a few seconds. The music is alright and the arena is absolutely beautiful.

  3. Putrescent Knight: This one and the flower are interchangeable, I mostly like this guy's design. His face looks like a humanity from Dark Souls and you fight him in Midir's arena. Music is fine. I thought he was very difficult and more frustrating than other bosses, but he does have some cool attacks like throwing his axe like a boomerang or the double spin attack with the horse. I am rating it better than the flower because I think he's a bit more engaging to learn.

  4. Metyr, Mother of Fingers: Again, every boss except for Gaius has some great qualities, and Metyr is no exception. The music is alright, but I love the arena and her design. It's not a very tough fight but she does have some difficult attacks such as the triple head slam and the running attack from the side. Elden Ebrietas. She also drops some very interesting lore regarding the nature of the world of Elden Ring.

  5. Radahn, Consort of Miquella: I would be lying if I said I didn't like this boss at all. I had to beat every boss in the DLC in NG 7 because I wanted to play with my first save file. I also refused to use spirit ashes because I prefer fighting the bosses one on one. Radahn was the hardest boss by far because of his infamous second phase. In NG 7, I had to learn the fight perfectly because one small mistake in phase 2 meant I could get caught healing up and die immediately. The beams of light after every sword slash but one during a combo also deal an insane amount of damage even with Marika's hair braid. Thankfully the attacks are mostly the same as phase 1 and are quite easy to dodge after you've gone through them a few dozen times. His grab attack is also very easy to punish, as well as the gravity whirlwing charge and the Pontiff Sulyvahn combo. The main problem is the clone attacks, which I never learned how to properly dodge but I'm sure it's doable. One thing that left me a bit disappointed was the orbital strike, which I felt looked a little less cool than Starscourge Radahn's meteor strike in the base game. I really liked the inclusion of Miquella's dialogue with the grab attack too, and I think it's a really interesting mechanic, although I never got killed by it. Thematically, I really dislike that we're fighting Radahn again, and that's mostly why I'm rating it this low. His presence in the arena is also subpar in comparison to other great final bosses such as the Orphan, Gael or even the Elden Beast. The arena itself is kind of boring, in fact. The music however is a grand slam in my opinion.

  6. Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame: Admittedly, I didn't like this boss as much as other people seem to, but he's still pretty excellent. His physical attacks are mostly easy to dodge, the main problem being his frenzied flame surges during phase 2. You can easily run up to him at the start of the fight and hit him a bunch before he's done with the fire attack. I thought having to kill Midra before the start of the actual fight overstayed its welcome. Perhaps it would have been better to only have to kill him one time? Another thing is that the arena itself is a bit lacking. The music is very interesting as it fits him very well, but it's not my favorite in the DLC.

  7. Romina, Saint of the Bud: A sleeper hit. This boss is excellent! Which goes to show how much I like the next fights. She's probably the easiest Remembrance boss in the DLC. All her attacks are easy to dodge, not having circular AOEs or delayed attacks. I particularly love the attack where she jumps in the air for a second and then you hear that ZING signaling that you have to dodge. It's so cool! Her design is absolutely incredible and the music is one of my favorites in all of Elden Ring, with that callback to Malenia's theme. The arena is a bit boring, admittedly, and I feel like she's a bit too easy perhaps, but this boss is an absolute joy to fight.

  8. Rellana, Twin Moon Knight: My opinion on Radahn and Rellana is similar, as they're very difficult to learn but feel all the more rewarding once you've got them memorized. She really is a joy to fight against once you know all her combos. I am currently trying to no-hit her on my second character and it's very engaging. One thing about this boss is that she has a lot of different attacks, but not a lot of mix-ups, and the dodge timings on most of her attacks are similar, so you can get away with rolling a bit early or late. Her heavy attacks are particularly easy to punish, as well as the Carian greatsword into slash attack. Phase 2 is mostly the same, as her fire attacks are not that hard to dodge. Those 5 Moonveil arcs in a row are very hard to dodge though, and do a lot of damage. Her moon attack is scary, but if you dodge the first one you can tank the other two. It also looks very cool. This boss is similar to Malenia (she even shares an animation with her!), and feels like a dance when you're fighting with her. The arena is very boring though, whereas the music is quite excellent, with the bit from the gameplay trailer and Renalla's theme.

  9. Messmer the Impaler: The second coolest looking boss of the DLC. Messmer is deceptively difficult, particularly in Phase 2 with the abyssal serpent. I mostly love his first phase. His animations feel super fluid and like they merge with the fight perfectly, unlike most other Souls bosses which feel like they're standing around after attacks. His initial slam is super cool. His main attack, the flame sweep into the thrusting combo and then the slam with spears protruding from the floor is incredible, and also very fun to dodge. In phase 2 I feel like I cannot really make out where the snakes are, so he is a bit of a glass cannon in my opinion. He doesn't have a lot of health, even when I fought him at level 9 blessings. The arena is alright, and the music is... alright too, which was disappointing for me.

  10. Divine Beast Dancing Lion: I adore this fight for the simple fact that the music in synced up with the 3 transformations. I adore the attacks where he spews an element at the ground in a circle. It's so cool looking. This boss has my favorite design of the DLC and my second favorite track too. The music really is out of this world, and the arena is amazing too. His hovering triple tackle is not very hard to dodge, as well as his breath attacks. I felt like this boss was easier than every other except for Romina, which is understandable because he's the first one. I really enjoy how he changes elements throughout the fight. He would be my favorite boss in the game were it not for...

  11. Bayle the Dread: My favorite boss in all of Souls. The entire ascent of Jagged Peak is absolute cinema. The arena itself looks incredibly imposing when you step in, and Bayle's design looks simply evil. The best part is of course, the music. Genuinely one of my favorite themes they've ever produced. How it goes quiet in parts and the crescendo during phase 2 is unmatched in all of Elden Ring and possibly only rivaled by some of DS3's tracks. His phase 2 transformation is possibly the most exciting in all of Souls, how he spawns those gigantic lightning wings and flies high up in the air with the absolute fire music in the background. His fire attack is of epic proportions as well. Bayle the Dread's name selection is simply perfect, as whenever he's not attacking he looks DREADFUL. Dreadful is the perfect word to describe it. Dangerous, imposing and evil, with that demonic head and broken body. He deals insane amounts of damage, but actually doesn't have a crazy number of attacks and they're mostly easy to dodge, except for the massive AOE in phase 2 where he leaps high up in the air and then slams into the ground and there's an explosion afterwards. Igon's dialogue is a vital part to the atmosphere. I only summoned him the first few tries I fought Bayle because I obviously wasn't gonna beat it, and his dialogue was so epic I kept summoning him a few more times in order to listen to it. I ended up beating him solo, of course but Igon truly is an excellent addition to the fight.

For information's sake, I used magic infused backhand blades for most of the bosses, and Messmer's spear for the flower and Putrescent Knight.
