Angry & Drunk
Post Body

W is a very tall man who I thought was a pretty okay person. His first year we would all hang out with him and generally have fun. He’d be a bit rowdy when drunk but more in an embarrassing way then a worrying/dangerous way.

His second year at the school he was made head teacher. He was qualified so no one thought twice about it. But he turned into a tyrant and was angry all the time. Frequently he’d pick fights with teachers.

For example:

Beginning of the school year we went over the books we would be using, how they’d be use and in what order. When my class was about to finish their book a few months later I went to ask him what would be used next just so that I had them in the classroom ready to go. I confirmed with him which books to use with the help of the owner as witness. A month later when my students were using the new textbook, he started yelling at me saying how dumb I was and how much of a terrible teacher I was because I was using the wrong textbook even though he’d confirmed it. What made it worse was that he did this in front of all the students, teachers, and assistants who were also confused. I defended myself calmly and told him he told me to use the book. Once I did so he literally flounced out the room and out the school.

Another time we had a meeting to go over what would be done for the Halloween party. He decided to enact a rule that didn’t make sense and clearly only targeted one teacher. That teacher had enough and questioned him about it. W lost his head and started yelling at the teacher and threw stuff at him. Then once again flounced out.

We realized that when he knew he fucked up he’d flounce out the room. If he was in the right he’d stay. He also had a problem with coming to work either drunk or hungover extremely frequently and as such it would exacerbate his anger and he’d take it out on his students. Screaming at them and insulting them.
