(For context I am queer and trans) I have had a keen interest in ancient Egypt for well over a decade and have wanted to become an Egyptologist for as long as I can remember but I need to know if you actually HAVE TO go to Egypt to become an Egyptologist because itโs considered very unsafe for queer and trans people and I donโt like the possibility that I could be imprisoned. Is there a way that I could be an Egyptologist but only deal with artefacts in museums or is there laws against persecuting archeologists? Please let me know :)
