So here's my story. I bought an Eero base unit (2nd gen) via eBay, and it was listed for parts only, since they stated they couldn't test it. I thought that it was because they didn't know it had an app, and it was a base and a beacon. Well I was able to reset it and start the joining process, but it failed after it was trying to add it to my account. I contacted support, but since the label was missing, I provided the MAC (from when I connected it via ethernet to my existing Eero base). They said that it was assigned to a company, and that I couldn't reset it.
Since I bought it, and I physically have the hardware, why can't I just flash firmware and use it? It's making it seem like support doesn't want to help, and the best they would offer is a discount towards a new Eero, which I find unacceptable. Maybe someone else has been able to either crack the bootloader, or some way it can be added to my existing network. If not, now I just have an expensive paperweight, and the seller stated on the listing that returns aren't accepted.
