Picked up a 2nd gen at my local Best Buy consisting of 1 eero and 2 beacons for my 2000 sq ft 2 story home replacing a Netgear Orbi setup. The eero is connected to an AT&T modem/gateway with 1 gbps fiber service.
The Android app on my S8 would not get past the screen of "searching for eero." Called support and they said it can take a few mins. I waited 5 min multiple times to no avail. Had to use an Ipad to setup the eero and add the beacons.
Would prefer a web interface vs the app approach.
Due to dhcp reservations I have setup I needed to change the IP range on eero to 192.168.1. Not sure why this is not the default.
WiFi speeds are a bit slower than the Orbi but i was expecting that.
I have not had any drops in the couple hours the network has been up and running which was my main reason from moving away from Orbi as the network was not reliable.
