How loud in a terraced house?

Hi all

So, I have two questions for you today... any responses very much appreciated!

Around two years ago, I bought myself the Alesis Surge, and really enjoyed it as a kit. I had it upstairs in my office, and I live in a terraced house in the UK (in case US don't have terraced properties, they are basically where you have a house attached to you on both sides). Not only was it quite loud for people downstairs, but I also know that my neighbour was definitely getting irritated. I believe this was partially because I had the bass drum up against a partition wall, which was leading to vibration through my house and theirs, but also because it was upstairs... I'm aware that e-drum kits upstairs will lead to loud vibrations anyway.

So, the big question... if I buy another kit and put it downstairs in the lounge on wooden flooring, will it be quieter relative to upstairs? I have googled this, but can only find examples where people are talking about apartments... I need to hear form people in terraced houses!

2) Not sure which kit to get now... I sold mine because of space, but decided to pick one up again. The Alesis Nitro Max looks great (removed the large rims), comes with drumeo and the new module looks pretty sweet. Is this probably the recommended kit to get? Don't really want to spend more than £400!

Thanks all and happy drumming!
