I reckon Kimyan Law's album Coeur Calme is a very well produced album - the space and balance, the mixture of moods and vibes.
This is a nice reminder that better gear/lots of gear does not equal better skill.
Keep practicing, and just make music!
Edit - Clarification: Yes, gear is important. Yes, gear can help. Especially in the context of mixing and mastering. However my intended context was in relation to the actual production of the music, the musicality and intent of it. Perhaps I worded it poorly.
A practiced/good drummer could use a couple of old buckets to create something interesting and catchy, an unpracticed/bad drummer with a great drum kit would still sound like an unpracticed/bad drummer.
