What should be taken more seriously when producing, the production of a song (mixing, mastering, compression, eq'ing), or the musicality?
Post Body

So this is something that I've been thinking about a ton the last week or so, I can't seem to get it off my mind and it has just been annoying me. It seems like when I write a song, I get the musicality part of it right on, but I don't know how to mix, master, ect., and when I show others my work, I always get "work on the mix down", or whatever the case may be. What I want to know is, is that truly important to make a song good? Does it REALLY matter? I personally don't think so (although I am learning to do those things, i'm not just ignoring them of course), though other people will look at it differently sure, which I understand and respect.

Edit: To the downvoters, did this question, like, piss you guys off?
