Songs with the bassline as the same single note, why it doesnt sounds redundant and repetitive ?

ALL of my productions i have ever made always been the same with the low end :

- a melodic bassline that follow the root notes of the mains chords. (low cut to leave the sub open)

- sub that follow the bassline with high cut.

- (top bassline from time to time that follows the bassline melody)

In music the bassline is really the groove and the foundation of the sound, so i feel like its important for it to be catchy.

Recently i was listening to Mau P - drugs from amsterdam, bassline is the same single note for 4 minutes long. STILL, it doesnt sounds like the song is boring and repetitive. How is it ?

I'm more of a melodic house guy so maybe that's why im used to a bass that follow chords or main lead (if there is no chords).

The first genre i think about is big room house, where its always a single bass note glued to the kick for the entire track. (But i always found that genre very boring)

But, I dont get how i dont find it boring of repetitive for drugs from amsterdam even after dozen of listening.

Lets discuss (sorry if my post sounds like i'm an EDM noob haha)
