7-inch ipad for production?

Finally got the funds to join the world with an iPad for production. Plan is to load it with all the tools: ableton controller, sequencer, various MIDI and some synths.
For the rest of what I want to do (non-music) the new 7-inch size is a good size for me. But I haven't seen anyone (yet) with a setup that goes with this option and don't want to spend my life wishing for something bigger ("that's what she said") - anyone with early experience at this size (or videos etc. to get a feel for how big it acts?)
