Post Body

Hello everyone! I have a question about making music.

Short version: where do I start in terms of making music and learning how to do it?

Long version: for the longest time I have been wanting to make music. Wanting to write and make something that people can use to dance or chill or study. Now that I have motivation I want to learn how to make it a reality. I started relearning how to play the guitar. And I downloaded some pdfs on making music but honestly it feels like a lot. My goal is to make at least one chillpop/lo-fi song this year. I know this is an EDM production reddit but I also don’t mind hearing tips on how to create that type of music.

I need advice on what programs to use, what’s the best approach in doing this solo since I have no funds and honestly I just want to make one song to surprise my partner on our anniversary (it’s in December). I feel hopeful that I can learn whatever it is I need to learn in order to make this work. So people of this edmproduction: help me make music. Where do I start?! :D

Edit: I have a pc. I have a mic. Idk if it’s good or not but I got it for d&d. (I will look at the brand and tell you all later in case that is important)
