Hello editors,
I'm a relatively new editor (3 years experience) working in the broadcast news industry. I learned everything I know about news editing on Adobe Premiere and After Effects. However, I applied at another company that uses AVID, and when I tried using the same techniques in AVID that I used in Premiere, the timeline became a hot mess. Although I was able to finish the project, I took so many unnecessary steps that really slowed me down. Is there a tutorial series or guide to learning AVID with a Premiere skill set, or should I just learn AVID from the ground up and forget everything I know about editing? Any advice is welcome.
