Adobe Premiere won't read files on external drive

I am in a little bit of a bind right now. I have a ton of media on an external hard drive, which was working fine at home. I'm on the road for a few days now Premiere on my laptop is not cooperating. The project file open, but none of the media is connected anymore. Furthermore, the drive shows up in the relinking menu, but I can't access it. Double clicking on it will not open the drive.

It seems like some sort of permissions error, but everything is set to "Read & Write." Ran the First Aid utility as well and no issues where detected. Anyone have any ideas?

Premiere 2023. MacbookPro with 14.4.1 OS
